    It was great fun to have my grandchildren here on the weekend.  Taking a walk with them around our acreage was enlightening.  They were captivated by the simplest of things – taking note of everything in their environment, much of which I take for granted.     By the time my birthday rolls around in August it seems that summer is waning.  School supply ads are everywhere and the focus seems to be more on fall. This year’s birthday brought some challenges as it is my first one with me being on a gluten/dairy/nut free diet.  Added to that challenge is an intolerance to xanthan gum which is in most gluten free products.  That leaves few alternatives for loved ones who want to have cake for me.     Someone pointed out to me this week that moving is one of the top three stressors in life.  Dealing with change is not easy, even with having the experience of moving a great deal. What makes where we live more than just a house and into a home?  It’s more than getting the pictures hung and everything in its place.  It’s more than finding a new dentist and learning where to shop for things.
