    As I sort through all my pictures on this Family Day holiday, I feel a mixture of emotions.  So much of my life is represented in these photos.  Years of growing and learning, of joys and sometimes sorrows.  As I examine the pictures of my children I feel a sense of both satisfaction and sadness.   • The Best Version

    As Valentine’s Day approaches there are many thoughts and quotes floating around about love.  In a movie I was watching recently the concept of love was presented this way –  Love is helping someone be the best version of themselves. That thought really resonates with me on multiple levels. I am blessed with a husband who definitely views love this way.  He encourages me daily.  He delights in doing things that make my life easier and that help me in the areas of life that I want to pursue.  I am thankful that he isn’t afraid to challenge me as well.  His comments and suggestions have helped me grow in…

  • Those Who Shape Us

    She’s always there for me. Whether I am sharing my joys or my hurts, she listens without judgment. She is a strong example of patience and perseverance. I am blessed to still have her in my life as my dear mother turns 87 today. We aren’t able to be together in person to celebrate, but we are together in heart.   As we talked on the phone this morning she was her usual chipper self despite experiencing bouts of intense back pain. I can almost see her eyes light up as we talk about her great grandchildren and their escapades. She is and always has been devoted to my brother…
